Martin Associates implements a sophisticated approach to measure economic impacts of shipyard activity. The methodology measures the jobs, revenue and tax impacts generated by new construction and repair work at shipyards. The impacts are estimated by industry segment (tankers, cargo ships, barges, Navy/Coast Guard, MARAD, oil modules). The model allows the direct comparison of shipyard activity with the impacts of seaport, airport and other industrial activity.
